Testimonials

Here, in their own words, are testimonials from a high school Principal, a few parents and a few students in different states, that we helped with the college application process

[Our son] got accepted in Georgia Tech . You have Midas touch 🙏

A parent of a student that we recently helped get into their dream schools

I really cannot express how grateful I am for you both during this application process and of course far beyond :). I’m not one to write reviews on Amazon, but if our interactions were a product, I would give you 6 stars (out of 5)! I think even Nanna wouldn’t complain about the negative environmental impact of purchasing Amazon products… :D.

First and foremost, I was very appreciative of your flexibility and promptness in scheduling all our meetings. I never felt like I had to go out of my way or work around your schedule in an inconvenient way, and if there ever were delays or cancellations in our meetings, they came from my side! Moreover, I felt like all our meetings were a perfect blend of “fun” and “productivity.” I never was worked up by the stress of a meeting, but I also didn’t feel like we wasted any time.

One of my favorite tactics that you both used was having me read aloud essays. No one else that I’ve worked with or asked advice from had me do this, and I think it definitely made a huge impact in identifying the flow and readability of all the essays—and even just helped me appreciate my own voice in my writing.

That brings me to my next point! No matter what the topic, you were always the first to point out when I strayed from my authenticity and to advise me on how to return to it. I also loved how you always had very helpful opinions but never forced them upon me if I wasn’t vibing with something. I felt like I was very much in the driver’s seat throughout the process, which is something I very much value (as you know :)). You definitely put far more care and thought into each and every word I wrote than any other counselor.

I’m the type of person that will send your doc back completely yellow & green with comments and suggestions if you ask me to edit your essay. I truly believe in giving thorough, constructive feedback. That being said, I genuinely cannot think of anything that you could’ve done better! I am truly just feeling very satisfied and thankful. I tell people when they ask that college apps really aren’t as bad as people hype them up to be and that I even enjoy working on them. As expected, this brings up some pretty shocked looks, but I think it’s just because other people didn’t approach this process with the right mindset—the one that you helped instill in me. You made this process truly enjoyable and I really did feel like I was on a journey learning and discovering more about myself. If I think of any feedback later, I’ll be sure to let you know.
Thank you so much, once again.

" We all know that it isn't generally very easy to work with a teenager overall. And working with a teenager during the stressful admissions season isn't a particularly enticing challenge to take up. My daughter, despite being sweet and friendly, certainly has a mind of her own and is filled with opinions. She has a lot of criticism about her own writing, and she most certainly has opinions about others' feedback and even more importantly, their approach to feedback. It's really so easy to tick a teenager off :)

But Lakshmi and Prabu rocked with this. To the point that our daughter would eagerly look forward to her calls with them. They made her realize that there is so much to celebrate in the journey, and one need not wait till the end result to be happy. They made her feel accomplished, happy, confident and put her best foot forward in her applications. They brought a perfect blend of expertise in both STEM and Humanities and gave my daughter very helpful insights in both angles. They'd work with her, sprinkling their customized for each child fairy dust, working their magic with their special tricks and tips in establishing special camaraderie with the child and helping them see their essays from the perspective of people who are meeting them, as individuals on a paper, for the first time.

And frankly, I know very little of the process, I didn't have to involve while they worked with my daughter. I'd just see the result in my daughter's happy, motivated, and smiling face and lively talk about the very interesting details of the different essays. They realized that a parent might be stressed, and would always reach out to me separately, sending happy good mornings, and sharing interesting updates about their life - and not even bring up anything about the applications. It was truly a destresser. And of course, they were always open to receiving any number of questions about the applications, and very patiently and tirelessly answered my questions.

Tomorrow my daughter is clicking her last submit for the admissions season. And with all her paranoia, her list isn't a trivial number either. But we are DONE. Getting done a whole week ahead of time, and she gets to relax the rest of the break and celebrate -- celebrate a journey that was filled with hard work, patience, perseverance, friendship, and love. “I thought that you guys did an excellent job of relating to our parents the process to aid their child through college admissions.  Loved each piece of the presentation and how you related it to being a whole child.  Thank you guys so very much for your time and for a fantastic presentation. Appreciate you for being the people you are and for sharing your heart to others.”

“I wanted to quickly send you a message when I commit to a college… and I recently committed to Berkeley EECS! I just wanted to thank you since you guys truly were helpful during the college app process, from making a schedule for me to follow, all the way to making sure my essays were the best versions possible. I honestly don’t think that I would have gotten into Berkeley if it wasn’t for your help. I noticed this especially when I was recently reviewing the old versions of my UC essays and compared them with the new ones after your edits. I was surprised to see how many changes were made and how better they were because of your help! Also, it wasn’t just the essays that you helped me with. As my mom may have said, you guys didn’t treat me as a client or anything like that. You treated as a family friend and gave me valuable suggestions as well as a lot of freedom to write. I just wanted to sincerely thank you for all that you did for me in the college app process!”

“When we started college applications I was only thinking about getting essays reviewed and did not have any idea on the connection or logic between each section.
We got reviewed his essays a couple of times with different people but I was not satisfied so I approached you with the only intention of getting them reviewed. I was blown away by the whole process, how you took time to learn about [our son], his activities and interests. Now I understand why it is important. I was there personally only on first two calls … I wished I was there on the call when you did the write-ups on the board with + and – … I saw some pics on the group chat and was thinking aha ….this is one way of relooking what we are putting in, if it makes sense on the whole. This is truly a new experience to me and I am sure subconsciously I will put this approach of thinking on totally different things. I am glad you stressed to [our son]  if he is ready to put in the effort …. and I am totally surprised and happy by his commitment. When we look back at the first and final copies  it is like day and night and I have read his essays and short answers multiple times as I am so impressed, not bored and want to read them again …. which is a big thumbs up.”
